Spring Concert

Trevor had his second concert of the season this evening. His class sang "This Little Light of Mine" and "Mr. Sun". Notice I said, "his class" not "Trevor". He didn't sing a single note. Cracks me up. He wouldn't do the motions either. He did this for the Christmas program as well. Too funny. At least he followed directions, right? So I am thinking Trevor isn't going to follow in his mom's footsteps and go to the School for Creative and Performing Arts for drama or vocal music. Afterwards, we played with a few classmates at the park outside the church. We had a great time.

We also had our AI party tonight. Since it was the season finale for American Idol, I promised the boys we could have a party and include things that started with the letters "A" and "I". So we made apple crisp and ice cream. Yummy. If only life would be this simple when they are fifteen, sixteen and seventeen.

Neville

We went to a friend's campsite Sunday evening. It was so much fun. I couldn't decide which pictures I liked best so I am putting most of them up. Tyler, Natalie, Trevor, Caleb and McKenna played so well together. I don't think they fought over one toy. They were a little tired by the end of the evening, and McKenna screamed bloody murder being put into her car seat. But, if this was my main concern, then it can be called a successful day. Thanks to Heidi and Greg for such a fun time. Oh yeah...sorry about the crazy, blurry picture of the adults around the campfire. I am just glad I captured Aaron having a good time. This is what a 12 pack of Corona in a three hour span looks like. And sorry for the mass amount of pictures. Like I said, I couldn't decide. Oh yeah, and the snapping turtle was found today when Aaron was mowing the lawn, which looks fantastic, by the way.

We are so blessed to have these healthy children, family and friends. I can't tell you the number of times I stop to give thanks for these precious, precious gems. I am so lucky to be showered in kisses, hugs, giggles tears, boogers and poo. Seriously...I wouldn't want things any other way. I just wish I would have had this much appreciation for life when I was younger.

Super Saturday

We had a pack filled day. Trevor had school this morning, we packed a picnic, went to the park to play for a while, had "quiet time", had story time, ate dinner, went to Trevor's baseball game and stopped for a milkshake on the way home. Sounds simple, right??? It was all smooth sailing until I went to pick Trevor up from preschool. I needed to run into CVS to get some bottled water. Caleb insisted that I buy him stickers after running around the store like a chicken with his head cut off. I, obviously, wasn't going to buy him the stickers after this scene, so he screamed and cried for 25 minutes. Everyone had great behavior at the park (hence the pictures of unknown subjects on the blog). The baby is "baby Owen" as McKenna refers to him. She loves Owen and requests that we use his name in almost every nursery rhyme we sing. She has also grown fond of baby Owen's big sister, Morgan. Morgan is now Trevor's girlfriend. At least that is what he told me on the way to the park. Anyway, so I finally got them home and down for quiet time. We ate dinner and headed for Trevor's game. It was all fun and exciting until Caleb started acting like...well...Caleb. He got a burr up his butt and decided he was going to yell, run into the baseball field during the game, pour a woman's pop out, throw cars, smash worms on the bench, toss cups in the air, push my purse off the bench, etc. NEVER AGAIN WILL HE GO TO A GAME. NEVER!!! So, we are looking for a sitter on Friday nights. He really is cute and has awesome behavior one on one...if anyone is interested...Just thought I would throw it out there. McKenna sat like an angel. She listened and played nicely. I don't think I can handle Caleb one more time. You all may be wondering where Aaron is during all this...he is helping to assist Trevor's baseball coach. This is great for Trevor and Aaron, but total chaos for me. At least Trevor has his dad willing to participate, right? That is what I have to keep telling myself.

Thankful Thursday

I am so very thankful for everything in my life. Although my health has taken a turn (today), I am truly blessed to be a daughter, a mother, a wife and a friend to so many people. Seriously. Not many people get to experience the energy of three children who are all 15 months apart. Most days are nuts, but most days are filled with lots of fun as well. I cannot believe God has blessed me with so many wonderful little gifts. The kids are all so unique and gifted in their own little ways. I just hope I can remember these things everyday (not just Thursdays). I am definitely trying to live life like there is no tomorrow. I hope I can instill this virtue in my kids as well. In the midst of all the chaos we call this life, I am trying to teach my kids that it is okay to stop and smell the roses, it is okay to read one more story, or it is okay to skip baths so that we can ride our bikes for ten more minutes. I am trying to live the journey and not base life on the outcome.

Wacky Wednesday

To continue with the "King for a Day" theme, we made crowns out of construction paper, tape and stickers. I take that back...since we are going with the "Wacky Wednesday" theme, Aaron helped them make crowns. The kids (depending on who has the most stars) will get to wear the crown before naps or before bed. The kids LOVE this new concept. Trevor, especially, tries extremely hard to have the best behavior and get the most stars. The key to my system (I think) is that I don't take stars away once they have been earned and we are constantly striving to achieve something. I am really excited that something is working. So please...nobody else try to implement the system... yet. If I can get something to work here, I don't want to chance it getting mixed up somewhere else. I'm just so grateful that something has a chance of working. I have hope. At least it is working for the moment. We shall see.

Trevor Tuesday

Not even sure where to begin. Today was truly a "Trevor Tuesday". He went to his new kindergarten, rode a bus all by himself (without mommy), he rode his bike and he was "King of the Day". Being King of the Day is quite a huge step in this house. We are crowning kings and queens before lunch and before bed. He or she who has the most stars at each crowning event gets a treat and gets to choose a video for everyone else to watch. Way to go Trevor. What a big boy you are becoming. I am so proud (and sad at the same time). Woohoo!!
