Great Oma

Well, at least I have an excuse.  We have had a pretty devestating week.  Great Oma (Aaron's grandmother) passed away, unexpectedly.  She suffered a stroke and was not able to recover.  So, this week has been difficult.  I thought of her as a grandmother as well.  I was not lucky enough to have any grandfathers and my grandmothers both died a long time ago.  So, I have  always considered Aaron's grandparents to be my own.  It has been a sad week and I pray the next days go by easily and painlessly for all those who knew Oma.  She was a wonderful grandma to the kids.  Always had a smile on her face and was always easy to talk to. I will miss her immensly as I am sure all who knew her will.

Happy New Year...sorta:)

As usual, I haven't written in a while.  It has been a little crazy trying to maintain the brood.  Kids have been a little crazy and I have vowed to spend less time on the computer and more time teaching my kids.  It has been a wonderful change to our family.  So, I hpoe to blog a few days a week, but am dedicated to limiting my computer use to 10 minutes a day to benefit my family.  But, I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  Here are some pictures of our recent activities.  We have had a great time building snowmen, snow angels and sled riding.  We have spent a lot of time sitting by the fire, drinking hot chocolate and thawing out.  The kids are really embracing the winter wonderland that has become our backyard.  It is supposed to warm up over the next few days.  I am hoping to see some greenish grass and to maybe be able to take a walk without forty two layers of clothing.
