T-Ball

Today was Trevor's first day of t-ball. Unfortunately, we could not get a sitter. I wanted, more than anything, to go and root him on, take pictures with my camera, and be there with him, but we couldn't find anyone willing to watch the kids. So, Aaron got to go while I stayed home with the little ones. Not bad, but I would have loved to see his first practice. Nonetheless, he had a great time and demanded I make the time for him next week. So, mom...could you watch the two little ones for me? Caleb was, of course, distraught over Trevor not being here. And McKenna was too busy freaking out about the new bath mat we bought. The new one has longer "fibers" for her to sit on and she has gone bonkers since I put it in the tub. I am not sure if she thinks something is getting her feet, but I even switched the new one with the one in the master bath and she still screamed and tried to get out the entire time. Good times. I guess I can kiss away those times of sticking the little ones in the bath to start laundry, talk on the phone, or have the sacred five minutes of alone time I might get on a semi-daily basis. Oh well, she will get used to it, I suppose. She will have to, or she will be a very dirty girl...

I'd rather eat fish

So Trevor made it to the big day. He had to have one star left (out of five) to go on the big outing of the week. We decided we would try to go to the aquarium. The kids love this place, and I would rather hang myself than go. It is crowded, dark and small. The place just drives me nuts. More nuts than usual, I guess. We did see a new visitor to the sea otter exhibit. They had porcupines. Of course, with their stupid stroller policy, McKenna didn't get to see them. I will be so glad when the aquarium pass expires and I don't have to go again. Deweys Pizza, on the other hand, is a great reason to go...

All things "B"

We spent the day doing all things "B". We ate bananas and buttermilk pancakes for breakfast, we read books about butterflies and bees. We made crafts with butterflies and played the jumping bee game. We played bingo, ate blue iced cookies and toasted bread with butter (not such a hit, by the way)for lunch. Oh yeah...and we had a spelling bee. We did, however, run out of time for our blue bath. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. Fun, right? At least I had a nice time...Here are a few pics in celebration of "B" day.

I just loved this cute picture of Caleb

Catching butterflies in the net

Showing his bulgy and bloated belly

And this is downright scary. McKenna playing the bee game her own way...

Whatever

Not much to say. Kids have been a little wild today. My bladder is killing me. I think it must be getting close to a full moon. This is the look MJ has been giving me all day. It is either this or screaming and crying. It is amazing how cute she remains, even when she is off her rocker.

But most of the time, she looks like this...

Why can't I go

Poor Caleb. His whole life is trying to be like Trevor. He watches to see how Trevor walks, talks, pees, holds his toothbrush, buckles his seatbelt, blows his nose, etc. He wants nothing more than to be like Trevor. He cracks me up. he will watch to see what Trevor decides to eat before choosing for himself. He is like a lost soul when Trevor is at preschool and he is so depressed that he will not be going to school with Trevor next year. God love him. He asks Trevor and McKenna many times a day whether they love him and if they like his hair. I really hope he gains some self confidence at school. Caleb is so much cooler than he gives himself credit. If only he knew he was a total stud, with great hair, a contagious smile, a cute butt and piercing eyes. If only he knew just how much everyobody loves him.

First of many grill outs

I can hardly believe we had our first grill out of the season last night. Trevor had a friend from school, along with his parents and two brothers. We had a great time. There was great food and drinks. Best of all we had wonderful weather and the kids played nicely together. It was so nice to relax for once. It was so cute watching Trevor play with his "girlfriend". I hope this is the first of many playdates...
