The Rat Pack

OK. So I have come to terms with the fact that my kids are now better known as "river rats". I am sure they have been and will continued to be called worse, but I realized after two long weekends in a row on the boat, that my kids are well behaved, napped and much, much quieter on the boat. Looking into houseboats now...haha. Just kidding. I am serious about the attitude difference. They really enjoy it. And I have come a long way too. For being such a germ-a-phobe, I have been letting them get in the river and play too. I just sanitize them before they come back in. Which reminds me...I need to buy some extra toothbrushes or find out if kids can use mouthwash (of course, assuming they will spit it out). Funny, I know...but imagine being the one afraid of germs...I love the pics of the kids asleep on the boat. MJ fell asleep sitting strait up and the boys took two cat naps. It was an awesome day. If I could have a re-do, I would do so in a heartbeat.

Stupid Saturday

Kids have been wild and crazy today. Not much time to write except to tell you that this day has been insane with the capital "I". Trevor and Caleb have been bickering and defiant and McKenna is suffering from what I think is another ear infection which means she isn't sleeping and wants to be held all day. One day, I won't have these problems and I will be lonely and missing times like this. But, right now...I could use a break from it...haha.

Fun filled Friday

Aside from the 3.5 hour bedtime routine tonight, which took its' toll on all of us here in the family, we had a had a fun-filled, exciting, wonderful, relaxing, Friday. Not only did I get my garage cleaned out (well...the pantry/storage area), but I got to have two picnics and a two hour bike ride with the whole family. How awesome is that? I almost welled up with happiness. Between Trevor riding 2-3 miles without training wheels, and getting to spend wonderful quality time with the whole family, and the beautiful sunshine and low humidity, I could not have prayed for a more wonderful time. Thank you, God for such happiness. Sorry, no pictures (except the ones at the park picnic this afternoon) of the bike ride, but we were having so much fun, we couldn't stop to take any pictures. Also, love the new baby birds in the ferns on the front porch. How much better does it get?

Ready to scream

I am ready to scream. It has been a crazy day. I am truly not complaining. Just venting. The kids have been ridiculous today. Aaron is working a double shift, my doctor's appointment was crappy and bedtime has been 2 and a half hours and going strong. Like I said, not griping, just letting you all know. I did, however, get my haircut, went to a doctor's appointment and went grocery shopping sans kids (thanks to Oma and Pepere).

The boys were going to go to the aquarium with Mimi in the morning and McKenna was going to spend the morning with Pepere, but that has since changed. I warned the boys 20-30 times that they wouldn't go to the aquarium if they...___________(insert chosen bad behavior in blank). This went on all afternoon going on evening. I have had it. They are doing NOTHING tomorrow. And they will do NOTHING until they can realize who runs the house. GEEZ. OK. Rant over...isn't this a cute picture of Caleb in Daddy's shirt??

Neville Part Deux

Here are the pictures from Neville this past weekend. We had a blast. The kids were well behaved...with the exception of the oldest...and I don't mean Trevor. Haha. Honestly, one of the most relaxing weekends in a long, long time. Will write more when I can find the time. The kids and I spent the entire day playing board games. We played memory, bingo, subtraction flashcards, Guess Who I Am, The Very Hungry Caterpillar game, I Spy game, read books, worked on sight words and had a few dance and exercising parties. An awesome day overall. I wish all days were like this.

A day at the zoo

Here they are...finally. These were taken Tuesday at the zoo. Also included, is a picture of our friend Grant. We have been busy the last few days. Hopefully I will be able to keep up on the blog. Not sure who looks at it or if it is even worth my time, but at least it gives me a place to put up pictures. Hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day weekend.

Pre-summer cookout

Not sure I have the energy to write except to say that we had a wonderful time tonight with friends. Had a cookout with fantastic burgers, brocolli and rice casserole and yummy cupcakes. What a great time. It is nice that Trevor has made great friends with a classmate and it is even nicer that we like her parents. Oh yeah...it doesn't hurt that her siblings are all close to Caleb and McKenna's age. And again, sorry for all the pics. They are just too cute to pass up. I still have zoo pictures to edit. Hopefully I will get to them before the kids are grown.
