Sick Saturday

McKenna is still really sick and seems to be getting worse by the hour. I am forcing lots of liquids and watching for signs of dehydration. So far, so good. In fact, she went on the potty again today. This makes twice this week. I can see the burning of burning unused diapers in the near future. Not really, I'll donate them to some sucker...haha. Now, if only I could get Caleb to hold it at night. Lets hope and pray I get some sleep tonight. Between McKenna and Caleb, I was up several times throughout the night. And, inevitably, they slept in and Trevor was up demanding attention at about 6:15 this morning. I have taken vitamin C and some Sudafed. I hope it works. I already feel a little better than I did yesterday. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Here are a few pictures of McKenna. You can tell she doesn't feel well at all. Poor little monkey.

Daddy and Me

Not much to say, excpet the kids are still ill. McKenna is staring with the chills, cough and fever today. She is always the last to get it. At least I can see the light at the end of this very long tunnel. Although, I think the light includes a sore throat and sinus headache for me. But...whatever...as long as the kids are feeling better right?

Aaron has been home today. He took Caleb to his three year check up. Everything was fine, with the exception of Caleb's awful behavior. He is really starting to display some problematic behavior. Not listening, shouting out one word demands, and screaming about everything are among his top favorite things to do. Not to mention throwing toys, ripping up books and hitting McKenna. I know he will outgrow this, but it can really get on your nerves. I am going out for a much needed break tomorrow. Pedicures and a couple of drinks will cure all of my stress. I am looking forward to my few hours of bliss.

Here are a few pictures of the kids with daddy.

Kids are still sick, but we at least got to get outside for a few minutes today. Aaron is tired from work, and I am tired of wiping noses, butts and cleaning up puke. I will hopefully get some sleep tonight. Tomorrow is a new day. We miss Oma and Pepere and can't wait for them to come see us when they get back. Also, don't know why the one picture of Caleb is so huge, but have already spent the entire evening while the kids watched a movie, editing and messing with the pictures, that I am done. So, there is one huge picture of Caleb. Oh well, lets you see his pretty face a little closer. Such a booger. He is still telling me he loves me 20-30 times a day. Too cute.

Of Course

Well, I knew it was inevitable, but Caleb has whatever Trevor had over the last several days. And, of course, he has it much, much worse than Trevor. I wasn't exactly sure that was possible. Trevor has been really sick. Caleb has managed to spike a 104 degree fever, has chills, coughing and puking. Before I put McKenna down to sleep tonight, she was shivering. So, I am sure she is on her way to being sick too. Good times. Of course, Aaron has to work tomorrow morning now. Not his fault, but it is just how the story goes. Lets just hope it is quick and painless for the little ones.

As bad as Caleb feels, he managed to tell me 28 times that he loved me today. That is what I counted. I'm sure he said it more than that, but that is what I counted. He is such a love bug. I am so lucky.

The Longest Day

I will keep this short as it has been an extremely long day. Trevor is very sick. He has a horrible cough and has had a fever for a few days. Caleb and McKenna are showing signs of the sickness too, as they have stuffy noses and are starting to hack a little. It has been an exhausting day. Aaron surprised me and brought Indian for dinner. I was totally shocked and it definitely made the day better. However, I am ready to crash as I know I am in for a long night too. Coughing, sniffling and puking kids= no sleep. Oh well...there is always tomorrow...

You would not know they are sick from this picture taken just a few hours before Trevor's symptoms started. Anyway, I think I am in for a very long week.

Caleb's Birthday

We had a great time last night at Caleb's third birthday party. All of the cousins came and so did our add-along cousin, Jakey. The kids played nicely and the adults did too. The kids were wiped out and actually slept until 8:15 this morning. Thanks for everything. It was nice to see everyone and Caleb got such nice gifts. Hope we can do it again, sooner than later. Enjoy the pics. If anyone wants copies of any of the pictures, let me know and I can e-mail them to you individually. Thanks again!

Did I sit?

I just stopped to think about my day. It went something like this...
1. Woke up when McKenna must have thought it was morning and time to get up (5:00am)
2. Went back to sleep
3. Woke up when Aaron left for work (6:30 am)
4. Went back to sleep
5. Woke up when the neighbor started the muffler-less(if that is a word) car (6:58am)
6. Made coffee
7. Cut fruit and made breakfast for the kids
8. Got kids dressed for the day
9. Wiped Caleb after a potty break
10. Took Trevor to pre-school
11. Played ladybug game with Caleb and attempted to occupy MJ by pretending to read a story
12. Read a story to MJ
13. Unloaded the dishwasher and set all the dry sippy cups to the side (not sure why we use a dishwasher that refuses to dry anything)
14. Played Caleb's new computer game with him
15. Picked Trevor up from school
16. Washed all the kids hands
17. Prepared lunch for everyone
18. Cleaned the kitchen after lunch
19. Changed McKenna's diaper and wiped Caleb and Trevor after potty break
20. Put Caleb and McKenna down for naps
21. Let Trevor lay and rest while I folded 2 loads of laundry
22. Dyed my hair and rinsed
23. Played Wii with Trevor
24. Did art craft with Caleb and McKenna (not so successfully, but did it nonetheless)
25. Prepared a snack for everyone including washing and cutting fruit up
26. Did puzzles with the boys and attempted to keep MJ occupied while I ran from room to room to read to her and put in puzzle pieces with the boys
27. Paid a few bills
28. Cleaned the downstairs bathroom again (considering Caleb had an accident earlier in there)
29. Prepared dinner for the kids
30. Maintained the screaming and routy kids during dinner
31. Cleaned the kitchen
32. Put away all the sippy cups and wet dishes from the morning
33. Played Duck, Duck Goose
34. Attempted to make a few phone calls about issues with the house
35. Vacuumed upstairs and downstairs
36. Gave all three kids baths
37. Waxed eyebrows
38. Highlighted my newly dyed hair
39. Filed my way over-dued nails (I think it had been months)
40. Changed the sheets on the master bed ( I actually did this yesterday, but McKenna decided to pee on them immediately after bath)
41. Got everyone ready for bed
42. Made milk and water for everyone
43. Undressed and redressed Caleb since he had to pee
44. Put McKenna to bed
45. Listened to her cry and went in twice to check on her
46. Read the boys a story
47. Taught Trevor how to read a new story (he is doing great, by the way) He read a whole new book tonight
48. Put Caleb to bed three times
49. Rinsed out my highlights out
50. Getting ready to put Trevor to bed now
51. Although my day is almost done, I just realized I have not really sat down yet and I still have a few more things to do

I wouldn't change a thing, though. This is the life I chose. This is what I wanted to be. This is a Mom's job. But, the saying is right..."A mother's job is never done..." When you look at these sweet faces, it makes it all worth the while.

My birthday boy

I couldn't resist. I made time to edit my birthday boy's pictures. He had such a good time and all of the adults had a wonderful time waiting for two hours at Red Lobster. The kids got to pet a lobster and Caleb got to eat ice cream cake with no candles... At least we were lucky enough to all be together in the same place at the same time. I think I am safe to say that we will NEVER go back to Red Lobster. It wasn't bad enough that we had previous bad experiences, but they pretty much created a very chaotic dinner for all of us. The kids did such a nice job, though. To sit in a restaurant for over an hour and a half with no toys is no easy feat. I am proud that they held it together as long as they did. Little McKenna, sitting at the end of the table the whole entire time, not making a peep, sitting in her own poop, just having a fine time...she cracks me up. Only McKenna would be that way. She sat there and ate her own plate of food with no help from anyone. So, beyond the horrible service, the forgotten meal, the lack of halibut, the forgotten cake and the lack of candles, it was an awesome time. Thanks for everyone who came.

Play doh

I am trying to find the time to edit photos from Caleb's intimate birthday celebration. Until then...here are some pictures of the kids to wet your whistles...It has been a long few days. The kids have been pretty demanding. We are struggling with getting the boys to follow directions. Caleb has literally gone from the terrible twos to the obnoxious and horrible threes overnight. And, believe it or not, McKenna has been whiny and clingy. I have not found myself with much time to do anything. We'll see what tomorrow brings...

Happy Birthday Caleb

Happy Birthday Caleb!!!

Although Caleb's birthday isn't until tomorrow, I have spent the entire night working on this montage for him. The music is songs that were playing in the operating room while he was actually being born three short years ago. It is hard to believe how time flies. He is such a wonderful little boy and I am so blessed to know him and watch him grow. I can't wait to celebrate with him tomorrow and create sweet and lasting memories for us all. And, as you can see from these pictures and previous blog pictures, McKenna and Trevor are glad to have him around as well.

C'mon Spring Training

The only Reds fans left in our house...

For some reason, MJ constantly wants to wear this hat. She was wearing it and nothing else for most of the day, but I thought that would be pretty inappropriate to put on the blog.

And finally...one more reason McKenna can't go to bed with her hair bows in. She was crying for most of the evening and I finally figured out why...
