Caleb's Special Day

Finally...the fishing pictures. This was Caleb's special day with daddy. It was supposed to be a father and sons fishing trip, but Trevor's behavior was not good and he didn't get to go. Caleb and Aaron went fishing for the morning at Bernie's house. Not only did Caleb catch close to 20-30 fish, he spent the morning talking like a big boy and displaying big boy behavior. Aaron is hoping to go again soon. I am hoping Trevor will get to go too. I hate that he couldn't join the fun before, but we have to be consistent with a boy like Trevor. He will test you, test you, and maybe test you a few more times, before he gets that you mean what you say. I have a VERY strong-willed boy on my hands. Gotta love Trevor.

Anyway, this was about Caleb. He is such a sweet, innocent, generous and caring child. I love spending time with him while Trevor is at school. I love how funny he is. If I could be anyone for the day, I think it would be Caleb. He enjoys life and finds humor in the little things. God love him. And, obviously God loves me too, cause he gave me an awesome family. We are truly blessed.

Sad it is over

We had a great weekend as a family. Aaron didn't work any overtime and we were able to do quite a few things as a team. We got the border off the boys' walls (almost), we got our kitchen tiled (with the help of Aaron's good friend Craig), we went to the library, yard saling and we had a perfect campfire this evening. We wrapped it up with a game of baseball, smores by the fire and a spontaneous tea party to quench our thirst. I couldn't feel more complete. I am truly blessed and so thankful for times like this. I can only hope that we can have a repeat next weekend. Inevitably, there will probably be some sort of windstorm and we won't see Aaron for weeks...haha.

Wish I had more time to edit pictures, but 6:45 is coming very early for the boys. I'm a huge proponent for schools that start around 9:00 in the morning as opposed to 8:00.

First Days

OK. As usual, no time to edit my pictures or post anything wonderful. I'm thinking of quitting the blog due to lack of time, energy, etc. However, had to share these pictures of the kids on their first day of school. Trevor had a rough first day, but has made a COMPLETE turn around for his second day. I have e-mailed his teacher and we are communicating and discussing a way to keep Trevor engaged and behaving nicely at school. I am so proud. He was the first student to earn a marble in his classroom!! Marbles are used as a means of positive reinforcement. I am assuming that once they earn a certain amount of marbles, they will earn a party, special snack, or some sort of reward. I am just so proud that he was able to be the first to get one. Go Trevor.
And Caleb...he had a great couple of days also. His first day was a little rocky, as he was missing his family quite a bit. He was telling Miss Harris that he was tired and wanted to lay down. I realized that he has never really been away from his siblings for any length of time. He has been away from me when I go to the gym and what not, but never his siblings.
McKenna had a rough day on Tuesday when the boys left for school. She spent the morning pouting and whining for them. That was short lived, though. Come today, she was ready to push them out the door. We painted fingernails, put on lipstick, watched Cinderella, danced and curled our hair. Having a little two year old daughter is really, really fun...most days.
I had mixed emotions about the boys starting school, as most parents are, I'm sure. But, I have to tell you, I am so excited about Trevor's teacher. She seems very enthusiastic and encouraging. I think this is just what Trevor needs. I can't wait to get to know her and spend sometime in the classroom to watch him learn. We already know how great Miss Harris is (Caleb's pre-school teacher). I am more excited about it now than I was a few days ago. Let's hope this is a great year and that we all have a love for learning new things.

Neville Pictures

Here are some pictures, including the ones from Neville...finally. As Trevor continues his crazy steroid behavior, we are struggling to maintain our composure with him. He has completely lost it. He no longer acts like a human, rather a monster in disguise. Tomorrow is the last day. Thank goodness.
